Latest news update!!!
We are having a Flea Market at BISS on 22 April 2011
It is an Open FLEA MARKET and where we share used stuffs with each other.
Main Purposes
- The outcome from the flea market would be donate to BISS Global Issue Network to make BISS a better place.
- The Flea market will be on lunch time and on period 7 to period 8 at the open court ( the tracks).
- There is no restrictions to what you can bring, so everyone is very welcomed to bring whatever they or YOU want to bring. BUT, remember that we are only selling goods that are in good condition. Also, please don't bring any sharp objects as there are elementary students in our school.
- During homeroom time, teachers would collect the materials from students.
- The Grade 10 CT will accumulate the materials from homerooms on the 21st and 22nd
- We also would like to invite parents and people outside of school to participate in the flea
market.
- There will be a price marker to set a proper price according to its use and condition.
We hope to see you there!!!

Global/environmental song
The Grade 7 Music classes have just finished composing a song on global/environmental issues. The song are all displayed in their Grade 7 Music class wikis with lyrics and as melodies.

After the very first Earth Day in 1970, all sorts of exciting events unfolded such as the creation of the EPA, the Clean Water Act, the amending of the Clean Air Act, etc. (the EPA's got a cool interactive Earth Day time line to play around with if you wanna kill some time). Since that time, Earth Day's impact has been on a steady, if not a bit slow, climb.
Earth Day at Beijing BISS International School
Beijing BISS International School is organizing an event for Earth Day on 22 April 2011.
Our Aim is to raise awareness about Earth Day and to educate each other to be responsible toward the Earth we live on.

Project Manager
- As project managers, our work is to help each team to address the work that they need to do. In order to do this, we have to be clear of each step that is to be taken in this project so that we can guide the other students.
- Our job is also to make sure that each team follows the project timeline and their team timeline that they have developed. Should any of the team members or teams have problems in following through the timeline, we will have to alter the timeline so that each work can be done according to the expected dates.
- Also, we have to make sure that each team member has their own work to do and are not just relying on one person to do the job. Every work that a team needs to do has to be distributed evenly so that the timeline can be followed accordingly.
- Other than that, we should always report to Ms Lindsay about the progresses and problems faced while undertaking this project and ask her for advice so that each problem can be solved quickly and efficiently.

Advertising video methods:
- We are responsible to update the blog every week
- In the blog we research about Earth Day and in the same time updating on what are we doing for Earth Day at BISS.
Team 2 Digital Story

- Their job is to create a video for the Earth Day Event.
- Their First step is to create a storyboard and then create a timeline on the process they are doing.
First Stage:
- Discuss about their topic and upload outcomes from researching to their wiki. (you can also see their progress work on their wiki link to tabs above)
- After the timeline process they will create the video.

- Today team 3 is working on making 2 proposals for Earth day.
- They are to explain what they are doing on Earth day in details
- Once they are done with this proposal they are to present it to the principal for approval.

April 18th Reflection
Today team 1 has their own duties to do.
Our team was to interview the Citizen Journalism about whom they're interviewing and why.

April 19th
Just a few more days before Earth day and every team are very busy for they have many duties to fulfill before Earth Day. The social media team are busy trying to upload the Earth Day trailer and are busy updating the blog. Other teams are setting up a board for the Earth Day advertisement.
